Saxophone Statue

In 2018, this beautifully painted saxophone was a gift from Belgium to the city of New Orleans in honor of our 300-year centennial. The saxophone originated in the 1840s by Adolf Saxe and has since become a popular instrument worldwide. It took the artist, Dimitri Perpete, 60 hours to paint! At Musical Legends Park, it commemorates the connection between the instrument’s birthplace and the world’s capital city of Jazz, New Orleans.
