Louis Prima

Louis Prima was born in New Orleans to a musically talented family in 1910. He loved the trumpet and grew to be a musical genius, singer, and songwriter. He enjoyed New Orleans jazz, swing music, and jump blues, quickly becoming one of the most sought-after entertainers. Elvis Presley once credited Louis as his dance inspiration! You may also recognize his voice as King Louie of the orangutans in the Disney movie “Jungle Book”. With his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he passed away in 1978.
